Volunteer Administrative Assistant (Remote Ontario only)

Role Description This is a part-time remote role for a Volunteer Administrative Assistant.

The Volunteer Administrative

Assistant will support day-to-day administrative operations, including managing emails, organizing digital files, and maintaining contact lists. The role may also involve handling basic inquiries, updating records, and coordinating information for program activities. The position is ideal for someone who is organized, comfortable with technology, and committed to supporting the mission of Purpose Youth Ministries.

Open to high school students, college/university students and adults

Key Responsibilities

  • Create volunteer and staff onboarding packages using approved templates.
  • Draft and send follow-up emails, reminders, and other correspondence as needed.
  • Track important dates, deadlines, and outstanding tasks, and follow up with leadership to keep timelines on track.
  • Assist with drafting, submitting, and maintaining organizational documents through the Ontario Business Registry.
  • Assist with staff and volunteer onboarding and maintain related records.
  • Help organize and maintain financial records, receipts, invoices, and supporting documentation.
  • Maintain organized digital files and administrative records.
  • Assist with the organization and execution of Board Director and Annual Member meetings
  • Assist with preparing forms, reports, checklists, and other organizational documents.
  • Provide general administrative support for programs, events, and ministry operations.

Qualifications

  • Strong administrative assistance and clerical skills to manage records, documents, and general admin tasks.
  • Executive administrative assistance capabilities for scheduling, coordination, and supporting leadership as needed.
  • Effective communication skills, including clear written and verbal communication in a professional, friendly manner.
  • Comfort with remote work tools (e.g., email, video conferencing, shared documents) and basic computer proficiency.
  • Ability to manage time independently, prioritize tasks, and maintain confidentiality.
  • Interest in or alignment with faith-based youth work and the mission of Purpose Youth Ministries.
  • Previous administrative or volunteer experience is an asset but not required.
