Part-time roles, as well as backfilling for temporary leaves of absence, are a vital part of how we support our teams and patients every single day.   • Minimum of two years9 recent experience(within the last 3 years) of medical transcription in a Health Records department
  • Demonstrated knowledge of anatomy, physiology,disease processes, and pharmacology
  • Demonstrated knowledge and expertise ofcomputers and use of software

Required Skills:

  • Abilityto assess requests and prioritize them
  • Abilityto handle stressful situations
  • Abilityto prepare correspondence, personal health information releases and reports; aswell as, sort, review and file various documents
  • Abilityto work independently and as a team member
  • Demonstrateinitiative and good judgment in problem solving and identifying opportunitiesfor action
  • Excellentunderstanding of Medical Terminology and Pharmaceutical terms
  • Excellentverbal, written, telephone and computer skills
  • Flexibilityand adaptability
  • Demonstratedgood health and attendance record required
  • Ableto maintain an effective working relationship with patients, physicians,hospital staff and public
  • Provenorganizational, analytical service orientation
  • Abilityto respond to telephone inquiries in the Health Records Department
  • Abilityto transcribe 100 minutes of dictation per day
  • Demonstratedknowledge and compliance to Ontario Privacy Legislation
  • Consistentlymeets attendance expectations, demonstrating reliability and commitment toscheduled shifts
