Short-Form Video Editor: Kinetic Captions, Storytelling Edits

I'm looking for a short-form editor who can take a script, a voiceover, and footage and turn it into a Reel that holds attention all the way through.

The style I want is specific: kinetic captions, tight pacing, storytelling structure, B-roll layered under voiceover. Not auto-generated CapCut subtitles. Every cut, every piece of text, every sound effect, and every clip of B-roll should be doing a job.

These are typically 2-minute edits, b

The Job

I'd like the first edit turned around within 24 hours of you starting, so I can see how you work

What You'll Do

Edit short-form vertical video (9:16, Reels/TikTok/Shorts ready)

Build kinetic caption sequences, styled, timed to the voiceover, readable at speed

Cut to the story: hook in the first 2 seconds, no dead air, clean payoff

Sync sound design and music to the pacing of the script

What I Provide:

Scripts and voiceovers

Footage, B-roll, and brand assets

Reference edits and clear creative direction

Fast feedback, so you're never stuck waiting on me

What I'm Looking For:

Retention instincts. You know how to keep people watching without sacrificing how it looks.

Caption craft. Timing, styling, emphasis, motion. Captions are a design element, not an afterthought.

Good B-roll taste. Relevant, well-timed, never filler.

Efficiency.

Reliability.

Not What I'm Looking For:

Meme formats or meme audio

Flashy, gimmicky transitions — zooms, spins, glitch wipes, whip pans between every clip

Loud, aggressive, "hype" editing. I want the edit to feel soft, clean, and editorial. Watch the references and you'll see it immediately.

To Apply

Start your proposal with the word "Kinetic" so I know you read the post.

Send 3 short-form edits you personally cut that use kinetic captions and B-roll. Links only, no showreels you were "part of."

Tell me realistically how long one edit like the references takes you, start to finish. This is the most useful thing you can tell me; please don't guess low to win the job.

Confirm you can turn the first edit around within 24 hours of starting.

Tell me your software and your timezone.
