We welcome women and gender diverse people of all identities into a workplace rooted in equity, collaboration, and inclusion<br><br>The Part Time Front Desk Liaison is responsible for providing welcoming and supportive reception service for participants who are arriving for the Here to Help Program.</p><p><strong>ABOUT HERE TO HELP</strong></p><p>YWCA Toronto Help to Help is a free 12-week program in south Scarborough for Children 4-16 years of age and their mothers/gender diverse parents who have been exposed to abuse. We support participants through the healing process. This program offers a comfortable, compassionate, safe place for children to learn they are not alone This program offers to mothers/caregivers’ information on how children may be impacted by their exposure to abuse and provides support on how to support their children’s emotional healing</p><p><strong>KEY RESPONSIBILITIES</strong></p><ul><li>Greets Here to Help participants and directs them accordingly</li><li>Applies knowledge of the issue of trauma and the dynamics of woman abuse to respond appropriately to participant requests for support</li><li>Monitors activity in the entrance area and ensures children are supervised and in the care of either their mother or group leader, when necessary</li><li>Escorts children to their group rooms if they arrive late for the program and organizes taxis and taxi chits (when necessary)</li><li>Ensures the health and safety guidelines are followed in accordance with the policies and procedures of YWCA Toronto; responding to on-site emergencies by also using Here to Help safety protocols</li><li>Follows safety protocols at all times while keeping control of the keys to the elevator and group room spaces;</li><li>Keeps a walkie-talkie on their person at all times, checking before shift to ensure it is in working order</li><li>Connects with Here to Help coordinator when there is an issue of safety or a participant is requiring support</li><li>Completes monthly timesheets and submits to Manager as required and carries out other administrative tasks as required</li><li>Works within a team environment, facilitates effective communication and ensures that pertinent information is shared with the Here to Help coordinator and appropriate staff</li><li>May have to participate in staff meetings if needed</li></ul><p><strong>QUALIFICATION</strong></p><ul><li>General knowledge of an academic or technical discipline normally acquired through enrollment in or completion of a community college diploma (e.g. Child and Youth Worker Diploma<strong>) (Case for Equivalency will be considered)</strong></li><li>1-2 years’ experience working with children and their families</li><li>Training related to conflict resolution an asset</li><li>Ability to interact with a diverse community of children and their families</li><li>Excellent interpersonal skills</li><li>Experience working within a multicultural environment</li></ul><p><strong>Please note: </strong>A vulnerable sector police reference check is required by the successful candidate prior to hiring.
