Freelance Simplified Chinese to English AI Translation Reviewer - Environmental Science, Energy, and Sustainability

<p><strong>Job Description</strong></p><p><br></p><p><em>Editage, the flagship brand of CACTUS, provides translation services to help ESL (English-as-a-second-language) researchers communicate their science to the global scientific community. We are currently looking for skilled translators to work with us on a freelance basis. </em></p><p><br></p><p>We are seeking experienced translators with strong subject matter expertise in <strong>Environmental Science, Energy, and Sustainability </strong>to review content translated using AI. This includes both academic manuscripts and non-academic material originally written in various languages. In this role, you will evaluate AI-generated translations to ensure they are accurate, fluent, and meet high linguistic and contextual standards in native-level English or the target language.</p><p><br></p><p><strong>Responsibilities</strong></p><p><br></p><ul><li>Ensure that the AI-generated text accurately conveys the meaning of the source manuscript</li><li>Identify and revise any incorrect terminology, unclear phrases, or convoluted sentence structures</li><li>Enhance the fluency, grammar, and readability of the translated output</li><li>Compare the AI translation with the original text to identify and correct missing or mistranslated content</li><li>Deliver final outputs that are clear, natural, and reflect the appropriate tone in English or the target language, whether academic or non-academic</li></ul><p><br></p><p><strong>Qualifications and Prerequisites</strong></p><p><br></p><p>Applicants must meet any <strong>one</strong> of the following criteria:</p><ul><li>A degree in Translation or an equivalent degree that includes significant translation training from a recognized institution</li><li>A graduate (or higher) degree in any other field from a recognized institution of higher education plus two years of comprehensive professional experience in translation</li><li>Five years of comprehensive professional experience in translation</li></ul><p><br></p><p><strong>Benefits of this Role</strong></p><p><br></p><ul><li>Flexibility to determine your own schedule and work hours</li><li>Work from anywhere!
