The Building Operations

Technician is responsible for overseeing the maintenance of all electrical, mechanical, and fire/life safety equipment within the data center.

Technician serves as a technical resource to support Amazon within its data centers. Data center equipment that supports mission-critical servers must maintain better than 99.999% uptime.

Technician’s are also tasked with driving innovation while reducing operational costs in the facilities.

Technician’s are Amazon’s front line respondents for electrical and mechanical issued affecting Amazon's availability. This equipment includes, but is not limited to, stand-by diesel generators and related fuel systems, switchboards/switch-gears, UPS’s, PDU’s, AHU’s, CRAHUs, CRAC's, pumps, motors, VFD’s, and building automation systems.

This position requires that the candidate selected obtain and maintain an active Reliability Status security clearance with the Government of Canada.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

• High school or equivalent diploma
• Ability to work on call to provide support outside of regular working hours, while being capable of lifting loads of up to 22 kg (49 lbs) and/or performing tasks at height, including on ladders.
• Must have the ability to read/write/speak/communicate fluently (English) with respect to complex technical instructions and concepts.
• All physical requirements are expected with reasonable accommodations

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• 2+ years of data center or mission critical facilities (example: hospital, military facility, public safety facility, etc.) experience

The starting pay for this position is listed below. Amazon is a total compensation company, additional earnings may include shift differentials, overtime pay, and performance bonuses where applicable. Final pay rate will be based on factors including shift selection, location, and experience.
