🌍 Destination Specialist x 2 - Travel Industry (Full Time) – North America

$55,000 CAD per year + Generous Commissions

📍 Remote | We are looking for someone who is based on the West Coast and can work Pacific Time hours 8:30am-5pm Mon-Fri - 37.5 hours per a week.

This role has a fixed start date of 01 October and the successful candidate will go through 3 weeks of in depth training with one other new starter.

The role is flexible and can be done from anywhere within North America- You must work from a regular home office with a stable and fast Wi-Fi connection and will have set working hours as this role requires coverage of phones, email inquiry and online chats.

Founded in 2004, Chimu Adventures is a B Corp Certified global travel company filled with people who are passionate about Polar expedition cruising and South American travel and we are looking for our newest Destination Specialist.

We have recently expanded into North America after building our brand as the leading Polar and Latin America specialist in Australia and we are looking for a full time Destination Specialist.

As we expand we are looking for someone who can work from 8:30am-5pm Monday to Friday Pacific Time.

🔍 What You’ll Do

• This is a reservations/sales position. You will act as an expert trip planner for travelers looking to visit the Latin America and Polar regions, using deep local and expert knowledge to create personalized, authentic trips, handling everything from itineraries, cruises, hotels, flights, insurance, ensuring a seamless, supported, and memorable adventure from start to finish.
• Build trust and rapport with our travelers and trade partners over the phone, email and live chat and help get them or their clients booked on their trip of a lifetime. You will handle all related booking tasks and administration as well as support them in the lead up to their travels.
• You will compare, design and sell various land based trips and expedition style cruises and fit the right product to the right client by qualifying them, so you should be familiar and have experience following a consultative sales process.
• Work with our local offices and partners to book, quote and hold arrangements on behalf of your clients.
• Occasionally you may be required to represent Chimu at an event for trade or direct clients or asked to assist with things like online webinars or asked to appear in some of our marketing content.

🎯 What We’re Looking For

• Proven experience as a high performer in a travel sales/reservations role (ideally in adventure or expedition style travel or selling Latin America/Polar).
• Strong understanding of the North American travel market (Particularly the US market)
• Personal travel experience in Latin America AND/OR the polar regions of the Arctic and Antarctica is required for this role as we pride ourselves on being experts in these regions.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills. You will spend a lot of your day talking to people on the phone or via email and online chat.
• Self-starter with excellent task and time management skills.
• Flexibility to occasionally travel domestically and internationally as required and with the ability to connect with our global team occasionally when required outside of normal business hours.
