Bilingual Automotive Warranty Adjuster

Job Description:

  • Appraise and estimate loss and damage associated with automobile body claims and other applicable claim types
  • Verify claim terms and coverage, determine claim validity, and select appropriate repair procedures and price points
  • Review warranty contracts, previous notes, and previous claims to determine coverage
  • Contact repair facilities to assess failures, repair procedures, and part and labour pricing
  • Determine whether to request an independent inspection
  • Determine preferred repair methods based on pricing and remaining warranty
  • Negotiate labour and parts prices
  • Authorize repairs in accordance with warranty contract terms and coverage
  • Review total loss claims and confirm eligibility where applicable
  • Assist dealers with unsettled claims by consulting service personnel and/or customers
  • Provide timely and effective communication of decisions to claimants and/or the team
  • Meet departmental productivity objectives, including average handle time, first response time, service levels, and adherence to service guidelines
  • Deliver best-in-class customer service
  • Participate in coaching and team development sessions and provide input and feedback to the claims team

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 5 years of automotive body repair experience is preferred
  • Bilingual, fluent in English and French is a must
  • Auto Body Technician Certificate or Estimator is preferred but not mandatory
  • Strong knowledge of the mechanical operation and body structure of various automobiles and light duty trucks
  • Strong commitment to client service and continuous improvement
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills
  • Intermediate computer skills including MS Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Experience with Audatex or Mitchel estimating system is an asset
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills
